Teams of the Decade - NFL
Finally,
a system that conclusively anoints the NFL "Team of the Decade" for
each decade in NFL history! All teams from every decade have been
given an "Adjusted Decade Rating" based on a comprehensive formula. This
formula takes into
account regular season winning percentage, playoff appearances, playoff
victories, championships, and winning seasons. The formula is "adjusted" to allow for the
comparisom of teams across decades (read the Complete Forward for more
information). Each team that has ever played in the NFL (including the
early years when the league was known as the APFA and the AFL teams of
the 1960s) has been ranked according to how they performed during their
decade and how that performance compares to all teams across decades.
The point is not to determine the greatest team of all time,
rather the teams who enjoyed the greatest decades. Any conclusion
as to what teams are the greatest is up to the reader.
